We have worked closely with DebTech (a division of De Beers) to develop automated image capture systems for estimating 3D shape of particles for different size fractions.

These systems have been successfully used for the following applications:

• 3D volume estimation and visualisation
• Generating simulation models from real particle shapes
• Particle shape classification
• Recognising individual particles
• Damage studies and particle breakage analysis
